All flowing liquids in Minetest Game are broken, too.

Tried without water effects, too. Same result.

A minor update that doesn't really do much. Fixing little graphical errors is a good thing though.

My personal highlight:
Fixed incorrect animation state when placing nodes quickly (jordan4ibanez)
It instantly feels so much better when holding the build button now! 🤩

Such a minor detail, but such a huge effect!

If your concern is convenience, it's common to make a util function for this called FS

Code: Select all

local function FS(...)
    return core.formspec_escape(S(...))
end

-- use in formspec like S
FS("Some text")
… which makes it impossible to translate strings using the common gettext tooling.

Re: [Mod] Super Duper Walls! [sdwalls]

Update time! (Yes, the mod is still active 👍) A long-standing issue coming from a rendering glitch that exists since Luanti Version 5.6 causing connected nodeboxes not rendering properly when the connected nodebox is not shown was finally circumvented. (This happens when you place a pillar on top o...

Re: Luanti 5.16.0-rc1

Git commit history isn’t a user-facing change log, though. Now it’s to late, of course. But I mean: Description is there, implementer/fixer name is there, I bet the link is also there. Maybe with >= 5.17? It would be a nice benefit to see what actually leads to something, like, an issue discussion w...

Re: Best MineTest Mod loadout?

What are you referring to with “MineTest”? Do you mean “Minetest Game” or the old name of Luanti (“Minetest”)? If you mean “Minetest Game” maybe have a look at my selection of mods I think that are good additions for a relaxed “Minetest Game” gameplay that does not feel extremely modded. Some of the...

Re: idea: seperate service for tracking on-person items So moving from server to server can keep personal items.

on player join/leave hooks saving inventory state to some central db/service, which can be done with the HTTP API (simplest, probably) or DB integration (slightly more complex). Wouldn’t it be enough to register a custom authentication handler with core.register_authentication_handler(…) doing all ...

This mod provides a game-agnostic API to limit node interaction based on an access list. The owner of an access list can add player names to grant them access to the node or feature the list controls. The mod provides a purposeful and neutral looking formspec, and customizing options to adapt it to...

Re: Minetest security and reliability

Is this post AI slop? Is this a necropost? Who knows … 🙃 It seems to me that Minetest is a little insecure and puts a lot of trust in both the client and the server. The server isn’t even close to being authoritative in the client/server concept of Luanti. This will become even worse over time with ...

I mostly play modded Minetest Game games so sfinv it is for me, sometimes Unified Inventory or some variant of those two. For my own mods I usually create formspecs as needed. Some are inventories, some are not. For developing and testing mods in Void I use Void Inventory. For everything else I’m fi...

I think for some reason, the performance on old mobile devices has significantly improved over 5.14.0 as well.
On Android, 5.15.x uses opengl3 by default now. Maybe this helps with performance?
