Re: [Game] VoxeLibre (formerly known as MineClone2) [0.87]
Speaking of mob replacements, I think that more of them should've been changed. There are more unique creatures in VL that were invented by MC: - Endermite - Ghast - Blaze - Magma Cube - Slime (might stay, but design could've been changed) - Husk - Stray - Glow Squid And much more. Additionally, we ...

I like this name. Sounds good and doesn't sound like a MC ripoff anymore. It will take a while to get used to it tho...

Re: Making a game from scratch using Void?
Yeah, I know. Currently I just renamed mods and retextured default textures, need to do some test MTG mods first :D

Making a game from scratch using Void?
As in title. I would like to make an experimental Minecraft-like game project, for internal use only. I don't want to use MTG as a base, since it already has some gameplay concept (very barebones, but still). I want to use Void by Linuxdirk, since it seems to be recommended on ContentDB. My question...

Re: How are you playing Minetest?
Yep... I know it's pretty big, but you can't build an entire fictiional country with it. How many of the terrain would a Luxembourg-sized country use?
And yep, Minetest32 exists, but idk if Mineclonia works on it.

How are you playing Minetest?
Just as in title. Idk why we don't have such topic, especially because there is many ways to play Minetest.
I play it as a FOSS Minecraft alternative, I play mostly Mineclonia, in creative mode with HP enabled (this should've been possible in Minecraft btw).

Re: Best strategy to learn both Lua and Minetest modding?
Very helpful, thx! I don't have a time for this now tho, due to both irl and hobbies (I have a very niche one, like so much niche, it's called "OS Mockups" or formerly "Windows Never Released/Never Released Operating Systems", they're not really into respecting any license tho, j...

Re: Game Ideas/Requests here
I think for going in this route, when making mine game. Just, like, an alternative prehistoric ages, kinda like Flinstones. I just need to learn Lua, Minetest API and Blockbench...Prehistorical game might be cool as well tho :)

Best strategy to learn both Lua and Minetest modding?
As in title. I would really like to create my own sandbox/open world/roleplay/whatever game, as well as some adventure plot line games. It may be a mid effort visually (I'm pretty good at graphics in paint.net, but terrible in modelling), also I have couple ideas, but that's not a topic of this post...

Re: [Game] VoxelForge [Beta 0.5.0 - Release Candidate - 1]
I see like this is the only game with serious game design for now, all others follow the FOSS project development. However, Mineclonia is developed much faster now, like 3x faster than 2-3 weeks ago. I think the race for possible FOSS MC looks like this: 1. Mineclonia 2. VoxelForge 3. VoxeLibre I wo...

Yeah, I know. Basically my sandbox would have just same goal as MC, but made differently.

Re: Why don't make an original sandbox game (but still inspired by MC), instead of cloning?
We have quite a few games already that aren't copying minecraft, I did enjoy Glitch and Super Sam, and Block Bomber looks pretty good too. Yeah, but they aren't sandboxes, that's why I said "sandbox game". What problem are you trying to solve? I think I said which one. Besides, I use &quo...

Re: Why don't make an original sandbox game (but still inspired by MC), instead of cloning?
Yeah, I know. Still, I'm looking forward for such project to appear, most of the sandbox games are just MTG + mod soup, with some notable exceptions.

Why don't make an original sandbox game (but still inspired by MC), instead of cloning?
So yeah, I just watched MC Live 2024 and I was a bit disappointed, but that's off-topic. However, it made me think "why don't someone create an actual game better than Minecraft" instead of the clones? I mean, they're great, but people will rather pirate MC than play one of these clones (w...

Will it eventually support 1.13+ worlds, and make functional blocks still usable in Mineclonia? Maybe a command block converter would've been useful too.

Why maps aren't on ContentDB?
Just as in title. I don't understand why we still don't have them on ContentDB, even almost every Minecraft content databases has maps (CurseForge, Modrinth, PlanetMinecraft, even official marketplace).
