Re: Looking for information about a mod called qt
I think you mean quest test? (qt) It's an old mod, probably doesn't work on Luanti 5.0+
Thanks, I looked up what I could locate for "quest test" and that seems to be about quests quite literally. qt (that is the actual name of the mod as far as I can tell from in game) has stuff like I ...

Re: Looking for information about a mod called qt
Thanks but that's not it, it has 14 carrot gold, aquamarine tools and sky crystals but no armour.Mantar wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2026 20:45Is this it? viewtopic.php?p=202482#p202482
Seems the download is busted, on that page and the newer 2016 one it links to.

Re: [Mod] invisibility Potion [0.8]
Probably a dumb question but what use is being invisible? The only thing that I can think of is to sneak up on others and play pranks which I'm not interested in. To wit: can they be used for some practical survival advantage?

Looking for information about a mod called qt
There's nothing about it I could search for so maybe someone remembers this ancient (I presume) mod. It features things like iron shard pickaxes, obsidian pickaxes, 14 carrot (yes spelled like that) gold, polished stone (from regular stone) and loads more, seems to be a kitchen sink type mod ...

Re: [Server] TechAge Survival
Server's been down a few days in a row. Oddly started just about when Miniwelt came back. (I secretly think the servers are jealous of another...)
Addendum:
The address changed but since it's in my favourites I only saw the old one as being down. Happened to spot it on the servers webpage with the ...

New trees would only be in freshly generated map blocks, right?

Luanti seems to be getting faster
When I started out with 0.4.17 I found I had to use undersampling 2 or even 3, view range reductions to 50/60 and the perfomance tradeoffs setting to make it playable. Somewhere around 5.12-14 though I was able to use the def. 190 view range. With 1.15.2/1.16 I just now found out I can turn off perf ...

Re: [Linux] AppImage builds (x86_64 and aarch64)
Re: #2 I was wondering if there is a way to choose where those files go? It is putting the cache in ~/.cache/minetest/ (which sounds good but I tend to nuke /.cache/ to free space regularly) and the config in ~/.minetest/. Would setting up a desktop shortcut to the appimage and then defining a ...

Re: [Linux] AppImage builds (x86_64 and aarch64)
Very nice. I'm considering moving from flatpak to this. The differences seem to be 1. No server (fine with me my old laptop probably couldn't handle that) 2. different places to put the config and cache files.

Re: Sky
Are you playing on the Freeminer client? I have had trouble with using vanilla Minetest/Luanti
Nope. I assumed they were 100% compatible but I guess that could be a reason.
Incidentally the host which runs the various worlds of freeminer went down shortly after I posted and has not come back ...
Re: Sky
protections of any kind don't seem to work. even protected chests can be dug.
I can confirm that on the fm:Road server (almost same as Sky:Yggdrasil which I also visited) protectors show the owner as @1 and while the chat shows a message about the area being protected the node is dug and ...

Re: [Mod] Terumetal [v2.4] (Armor, doors & more new)
Once I understood the Terumetal mod, I loved it. It deserves update and be in ContentDB.
One update is to support Technic mod. It needs a HV heater generating 1000 HU/s.
Yep, it's a bit tricky at start until you understand it's a tech mod based on heat as the power source. Some documentation ...

Re: [Game] MeseCraft
tried Yams and find it great. I also liked Mesecraft but Yams seems more challenging when digging down. Mobs get really scary 600m down, where mapgen_v7 generates the huge caves.
Digging deep down would be too hard with the limited torches, and seriously, I don't want to build thousands of ...

Re: [Server] Tunnelers' Abyss
It sure would be nice if there were some wiki page on what ores need to be mined with. I ran across an ore called Osmium. It was at -511 deep. An iron pick axe doesn't do the job but I have no clue what might be able to mine it. Also, there's others I've seen in the public mines that are not mine ...

I've noticed that blinky plants send a pulse in every direction EXCEPT directly below. Is this a bug on the servers where I've seen this? (Tunneller's & Jungle) Or just a bug? Intentional? Why is it not documented if so?

My centrifuge solution.
I've read about setting up 34 of them, etc. My method (probably already invented but eh) is this though:

Re: Inventory Debate
UI+ all the way. From a player's POV it actually _helps_ you play. The others slow you down. i3 was my first fave but after I found UI+ I switched and never looked back. Sadly i3 has some nasty bugs (autocrafting destroys buckets, etc.) and the extra wide and sorting "features" turn out to be pretty ...

The upgrade slots purportedly take either batteries or CLU but I have seen YT vids as well as servers where people put unlocked default chests in an upgrade slot. Why?

Thanks! Shields fit in now? Awesome. Guess the "old" trick with the item frame can be retired. Now they can all hold the matching swords instead <grin>.
