Re: September - This Month in Minetest
I was more impressed with the subways mod than MeseTrains to be honest, because it's a new model and not just a reskin with an extra feature (and I think yellow and black is an ugly combination). But it's good to see advtrains creators making more trains, even if the core project hasn't seen much development in a while. Honestly it shows that Advtrains must either be fairly mature, or at least we're better at dealing with its worse parts these days.
Cave game was also interesting, though I would have liked to see an attempt at recreating the worldgen from Notch's video, but that would be kind of difficult because you can't get that version in the Minecraft launcher these days.
I don't have a problem with a name "this month" either, because (a) it sounds more enticing due to recency bias and (b) you can't easily declare what happened in a month until it's over. On the scale of a year it's easy to announce something between Christmas and New Years but for a month the first week or so of the next month is fine. The biggest thing is just somebody just getting ahead of it to make an early release rather than later. It's like how LinuxForks Wiki has a picture of the month, which often doesn't get changed until half way through the next month, or skips a few months sometimes.
