I wanted to play with the mapgen parms a bit, so that required me to rebuild from source. I tried rebuilding both v4.1 and v4.1.1, but I get this error from Maven...

You're missing a dependency, the one which provides the file format parser, jbnt. Here's the documentation (Treer's wiki redirects here), it is not very detailed though:

Ok. I installed Eclipse to follow that guide, and I noticed that this error appears in the console every time I try to create a flat map, even before I make any changes to the mapgen parms...

[error] Error: BiomeDataOracleFlat cannot cast params to flatParams. Using defaults instead.

I searched in Eclipse for the code that creates this message, and I found this method in src/main/java/amidst/minetest/world/oracle/BiomeDataOracleFlat.java...

MapgenFlatParams is a child of MapgenParams. So, if I'm interpreting this correctly, whatever calls BiomeDataOracleFlat when creating a new flat map is incorrectly instancing MapgenParams, so the object is not detected as an instance of MapgenFlatParams.

TL;DR It's not possible to play with the Flat mapgen parms, because they'll be ignored in favour of the default parms.

The current Ethereal biomes as off 25/7/2022, I can't attach an .mt file so anyone wanting to use the below will need to update it manually using the Edit Biome Profile inside Amidst.

New release v1.4.3

The main purpose of this release was to ensure compatibility with the latest Java Runtime Environment so it can continue to run on all machines, however I did sneak some other small changes in there.

• A biome image export feature
• Unused/legacy Minecraft-specific features have been removed from the user interface
• Updated the Ethereal biomes - as sirrobzeroone mentioned above.
