Unofficial Zoonami Mod Test Server (15 spaces)

The Pitch

Hey everybody, I put together a small server dedicated to the Zoonami mod by isaiah658, an original monster catching/training mod, sort of like Minetest’s answer to the Pixelmon mod on Minecraft. The mod is still heavily in development (hence it not being available on ContentDB yet), so this server is both intended as a place to enjoy the mod with other players and also to help isaiah with playtesting, bug squashing and further development of the mod.

Though still in development, it is actually quite fully featured, including:

• PvP trainer battles,
• NPC trainer battles,
• Prisma monsters (like shinies in Pokemon),
• Monster catching,
• Training,
• An optional 3d monster model mod (which is in use on this server),
• An economy system,
• Unique puzzle-like challenges and more.


The Caveat

That being said, as the mod itself is still in development and this is likely the first server to be built for the mod, there is still lots of trial and error involved, so the server does not promise a totally static world or gameplay experience.

I am still experimenting with pairing Zoonami with various mods, so there might be the odd unknown item, or possibly, in the worst case scenario, total refreshes of the world and world data. I am pulling in the latest changes on a rolling release model, so there may be new bugs or restarts to facilitate updates.

I will make my best effort to avoid having to refresh the world and progress, but it is a possibility. Still, it should be fun and offer an opportunity to playtest the mod and aid in its development.

Server Description: “An unofficial test server for the Zoonami Minetest mod by isaiah658. "A tsunami of monsters are invading Minetest! Zoonami adds monsters that you can collect, train, and use in battles. The battles use a formspec interface that looks and feels similar to a true 2D RPG. It takes advantage of the latest additions in Minetest 5.4.0 to control font sizes, styling, and animated images in the battle formspec."

Spaces are still available on the whitelist and the server has been updated to the latest version of the Zoonami mod, version 0.14.1.

In the interests of allowing more people to try out Zoonami, the whitelist has been removed for now.

If necessary due to issues with player behaviour, it may be introduced again later.

For now though, feel free to log in and check it out. You can find it in the server browser.

The server was down for two, possibly three days, because I wasn't paying attention and it ran out of space. This has been fixed and everything should be good to go now.

The server was moved to zoonami.magmell.xyz, still on port 30000. Your accounts should be untouched.
