Entity-specific walkable?

by repetitivestrain » Post

Several of Minecraft's blocks are walkable only to some entities or entities satisfying specific criteria (e.g., water when shod in frost walker-enchanted boots, lava to striders, powder snow to entities equipped with leather boots). They are of interest to Mineclone, where striders simply stupidly bob up and down in lava, and are quite inconvenient to drive, while Frost Walker is unreliable, and powder snow is simply unimplemented. I'm beginning to conclude that suitable facilities for this sort of selective node collision must be implemented in the engine, but I cannot escape the suspicion that something in this nature already exists. Do I need new glasses, or is this a real deficiency?

P.S. I'd like to file tickets without registering a microsoft Github account, but it doesn't appear as if this were possible.

Thanks in advance.
