[SOLVED] Mineclone chest and mob lighting erratic

Under both OpenGL drivers, Mineclonia's chests and mobs have been displayed with very erratic lighting, which alternates between complete darkness and full (14/14) brightness, ever since the visual effects branch was merged. Chest visuals are implemented as objects.

In the spirit of a picture being worth a thousand words, I've attached screenshots of both extremes.

Please provide more helpful information, such as:
  • OS
  • graphics card or iGPU model
  • supported OpenGL version
  • first bad Minetest version
  • last known good Minetest version
