I'm finally back right now after 16 months of not going to your fourm and I have an apology message to you all including yw05: I'm very, very sorry for all the insuIting and spamming i done, I'm no longer going to complain or threaten and spam pleasing all over you again and forever. I'm very sorry for spamming chat insults at you although i got banned from Linuxforks, and I'm very sorry for what I did to you back in late 2022-early 2023 I will never do this again. My behavior has changed right now of not going to your fourm for 16 months.
So please forgive me for what I did.

When working on the server list code recently I noticed that the domain has a broken IPv6 address:
linux-forks.de. 3600 IN AAAA fe80::3889:47ff:fe26:1bd8
This IP is link-local and will never work from anywhere.
Worse, it can cause older clients to fail to connect to the server.

For whatever reason, either the IPv6 issue was never fixed or it was broken again (at least, I think it's that). Even with the correct password, I usually have to try to connect several times for it to work.

I'm wondering if any mod is online at the moment so I can join in under a different name and try and find a way to prove that I was the owner of the old username? (perhaps by trying to locate where I placed a bed or chests, it's been a few years really, faded images :v)

Hi, I know it's a bit later.. You can always attempt to login, there is a moderator online often enough that it may work.

You can login on a new account and explain your situation, but be aware that it will take some pretty convincing proof to recover your account. If you still have the same IP address that would help, but I'm not sure the odds of that. And I think you will need admin (gabriel/survivalg) specific approval as well, and he can be busy. But we are quite happy to welcome you back on any account :)

I have found an old image from data mining the media cache. I think it was meant to be used as a subway map for an older incarnation of LinuxForks, probably the original LinuxWorks server from 2016 (the present server was launched as "LinuxWorks NG", for Next Generation). I hope some of those from back then enjoy it and can shed some light on it.

Well, it must have been stashed somewhere in gpcf's mod directory, because I targetted my search only at LinuxForks with a client with a wiped media cache.

The world itself is private between me and a few friends, and we haven‘t played it since almost 8 years anymore. It was originally a Minecraft world which we converted to Minetest back in 2015.

Ah, very interesting. I had correlated before that the trailer video and the Advtrains forum thread screenshot were on the same world, but now we know more about that world. There's no way to find it by putting a seed into a map generator at all, it's all custom.

I can't help but wonder if the world still exists, and I appreciate you might want to keep it private even if it does. But it would certainly be interesting.
