www.luanti.org can now be translated into different languages. Unfortunately, I'm unable to add it to Weblate due to an issue (I have a support ticket open). In the meantime, you can contribute via pull request

Re: Luanti website is now translatable
Very, very nice! I’m impressed there’s already a (mostly?) complete German translation, and it's high-quality, too. I only found a few small errors (will report/fix later, if I don't forget it).
Does the website language automatically take the user language by default or does it always default to English? For me, it defaulted to English but my system language is German.

Re: Luanti website is now translatable
Currently the root page (/) redirects to the English site. There's an issue to add some JS to redirect based on the browser language. There should also be a popup like "Switch to German?" if the user is browsing English whilst on a German browser. https://github.com/luanti-org/luanti-or ... issues/365
Another thing to note is that each language has a dedicated URL. Search engines will typically show the localised homepage when searching for Luanti - so the german homepage when searching on german google. This may take a while to take affect

Thanks for planning on using browser language instead of geolocation. I hate it when a site presumes I want the local or system language (both of which are much harder to change) instead of the language I set for my browser (much easier to change).rubenwardy wrote: ↑Sat Nov 08, 2025 22:38Currently the root page (/) redirects to the English site. Personaly, I don't mind the default being english (specialy since this is most of the code's language). Maybe you could make the translate button more visible by making it flash once or twice as a work around until you get the site to match the browser language?
Good luck!
