Hello,
I'm working on making extensive edits to a world using the WorldEdit mod because I want to create buildings and mesecons. I'm trying to figure out how to protect myself against accidents. Ideally, I'd like to save the world on demand, disable autosave, and have the option to quit without saving. Since WorldEdit doesn't have an undo command, it's basic safety to have control over my saves.
Any suggestion is appreciated!

This doesn't exist as a feature in the engine, at least not in the way that I think you can turn it off. There is a setting though called "Map save interval" (server_map_save_interval). That's 5.3 seconds by default, but I'm fairly sure the game will always save when exiting unless you manage to kill/crash the process without that. It's probably best to make a quick workflow for backing up and restoring worlds.
WorldEdit's lack of undo has been well noted. Support for some commands is added by an external mod we_undo.
Also worth mentioning: There is a mod similar to WorldEdit, called just Edit, which features undo. So does vexcazer which also has some similar features to WorldEdit.

WE_undo is a help but... yeah. I just make a backup of my map.sqlite before I do risky things.taylorcameron wrote: ↑Thu Nov 06, 2025 09:22Hello,

its ALLWAYS a good idea to backup the entire world-folder ... not just the sqliteSlightly wrote: ↑Wed Nov 12, 2025 02:48WE_undo is a help but... yeah. I just make a backup of my map.sqlite before I do risky things.taylorcameron wrote: ↑Thu Nov 06, 2025 09:22Hello,
