(HELP) Help for Minetest Android fork

I'm making a Minetest fork for android and I want to change the GUI (The menu and the player controls) but I do not know how to. I've seen some forks like Multicraft having a completely different GUI. I have heard that the code for the GUI is C++ but I don't have any c++ experience. I want to hide the content tab and add textures for the GUI. I also want to change the player controls.

Any people willing to help or give any tips? I would appreciate it!.
