(CORRECTED) Mod compatibility failure!
(CORRECTED) Mod compatibility failure!
I was updating mods and suddenly half of them broke!
Here's the broken mods I have:
3D Armor
Alien Material
Ancient Ice Stuff
Aquamarine
Awards
Basic Houses
Basic Materials & Items
Biofuel
Birds
Bonemeal
Wooden Bucket
Crowbars
Datacards
Dense Ores
Desert Ores
digiline_stats
Digilines
digistuff
Display Mod pack
Storage Drawers
Dungeons Plus
Ethereal NG
New minerals
Farming Redo
Farm Tools
Foodblocks
Handle Schematics
Headlamp
Zero-Efforr Custom Materials
Kitty/Kitto Ores
Logistica
Raw Ore Blocks
LWcomponents
Maple Tree
Me second Cart Control
Wireless Me second
MicuPack
Mob Biome Mapper
Mobs Redo API (This updated)
Mobs Animal
Mobs Ghost Redo
Mobs Monster
Mobs NPC
Mobs Skeletons
Sky Mobs
Mobs Slimes
Water Mobs
More Fuels
More Awards
My Ores
My Regen Chest
Nether
Nether Mobs
Nixie Tubes
Obsidianstuff Redo
Omnidriver
Ores Expansion
Overpowered
Pipeworks
Pipeworks Hole Removal
Rainbow Ore
Researcher
Sapling Spawn
Scanner
Techpack
Too many ores
Too Much TNT!
Toolranks (The fork updated, CULPRIT)
Toolranks Extras
Topaz Items
Travelnet
Extended Tooltips: Food
Randomized Map-Specific Ores
Uranium Stuff
Xcompat
XNether
Canned Food MTG
Toolranks (Fork) is the culprit for this disaster! I think that mod developer needs to rollback their update and ensure that doesn't happen again. I love toolranks, particularly the forked and modern version, but breaking mods is just wrong. Especially when that update breaks half of the mods!
("Lazarr! isn't affected since it uses just Subtitles & "What is this?" which aren't broken)

You should send this report to the project's issue tracker

Re: Mod compatibility failure!
I don't use GitHub, I almost made it, but the Captchas prevented it.
(I'm still extremely angry over that "Warning" which has no reason to be issued)

Re: Mod compatibility failure!
That's a Codeberg link though. There should be no issues there.

I didn't try joining Codeberg, if it costs money, it's a no-go.

Re: Mod compatibility failure!
Nope, no money! Codeberg are a pretty ethical alternative to GitHub, see What is Codeberg? and this thread that shows people here in the Luanti community trust them much more.

Re: Mod compatibility failure!
This is being addressed at https://codeberg.org/Sheriff_U3/toolranks/issues/7 As of now I'm conducting a review to find what caused the issue and how to fix it. Until I complete my review of the issue though v2.1.0 will not be approved on ContentDB, it's unclear right now as to what caused the issue.
Watch out! You never know when I'm around the corner.
Re: Mod compatibility failure!
@Sherrif_U3 - Seems to be a circular dependency issue, Toolranks is a simple API mods can use, so adding the 'farming' dependency messes with Farming Redo mod since it depends on toolranks itself, the fix is to remove the farming dependency and register the default Hoe's like I did with my own fork:

Re: Mod compatibility failure!
Thanks for the info, I'll need to patch that then.

Re: Mod compatibility failure!
This is now fixed in v2.2.0, there will no longer be any issues with circular dependencies with my Toolranks fork as I've removed the need for any dependencies.
[Edit]:
Also please don't use Toolranks Extras with my Toolranks fork, it is not supported and I'm aware of bugs when used with it. It will not crash your game or anything like that, but it does degrade the user experience!

I updated it now, and nothing went wrong! I consider this resolved!Sheriff_U3 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2026 15:23This is now fixed in v2.2.0, there will no longer be any issues with circular dependencies with my Toolranks fork as I've removed the need for any dependencies.
