This mod is dependency-agnostic. No mods are required to provide content, only crafting recipes. The entire thing is configurable too. Don't have a mod a recipe requires? Bring your own™.

Waffles for Dummies

Obtain a waffle maker.
Place the waffle maker.
Obtain batter.
Open the waffle maker.
Place some batter in the waffle maker.
Close the waffle maker.
Wait for the waffle maker to open.
Take the cooked waffle.
Consume the cooked waffle.
Repeat from step 5.

My son recently made a maple syrup mod for our server (not too shabby actually). I had to invent a Sugar Maple tree to include in mapgen. Now there's another reason to make maple syrup! Waffles!
