[Update] Craft the Web - a game made at CERN, Switzerland

Context
The European Organization for Nuclear Research, also known as
CERN, is a European non-profit research organization that operates the largest particle physics laboratory in the world. They're the creators of the
Large Hadron Collider and a small invention you may have heard of called the World Wide Web.
March 2019 was the 30th anniversary of the World Wide Web, an invention that is taken for granted these days. Creating it, however, was no easy feat. CERN was experiencing great difficulties in sharing information. For a long time, different manufacturers created hardware with incompatible ways of communication. Data formats also varied wildly. HTML was invented as a user-friendly and pragmatic way of consistently formatting information, allowing links between pages (ie: HyperText links), and the WWW was created as a way to view remote pages.
The Event
Last weekend, 6 major community members - Jeija, Krock, nore, Orwell96, rubenwardy, and Shara - travelled to CERN to create an educational game about the World Wide Web. The game teaches kids about the research process needed to create something and demonstrate its value, such as the World Wide Web. In the process, players also learn what makes the Web function, and the ideas and major inventions that paved its creation.
The collaborators arrived late on Thursday the 4th of July. On the morning of the 5th, CERN gave a tour of the campus, showing The
Synchro-Cyclotron - CERN's first particle accelerator - and the computer center. The team talked with
Dr Ben Segal, one of Tim Berners-Lee's mentors, who gave the team historical insight into how the Web was adopted first at CERN then by other research institutes, before going global. Ben also explained the data challenges that CERN has faced and is to this day constantly facing, in its race for discovering what matter is made of and how the universe was born.
The rest of the weekend was dedicated to development with breaks for food and social events. The event wrapped up at midday on Monday.
This event was kindly sponsored by the
US Mission in Geneva.
What next?
The game will be played by school children at the "Coding Science" conference from 22nd to 24th November 2019.
CERN will, at some point, publish press releases and videos. We will post them here when that happens.

The repo is already public at a very guessable Github link. However, we're not advertising it because it's not in a playable state
LMD wrote:Second : Could I participate ?
We probably already have enough people, but I could pass on this request

Good luck on that. The mods exist and work, but the most important part is yet to be done: Linking all mods together so that it becomes a real, interactive game. Until it's done we've yet got a few months, but the development won't be that fast any more due to slower communication.
GitHub repository for those who don't want to search it:
.git repo lol you got rickoll'd. please don't hate. it was just fitting so well

I once visited
DESY as a student, that was very interesting.
cool trip you did
and most interesting project
I mean the MT one
teaching kids is by far one of the greatest and most pleasing adventures -
if it works that is,
could get frustrating otherwise
I would have come along for the ride, I mean the bicycle ride - through the tunnels
(did that at DESY once on another visit)

Oh, nice!
Good luck with the development of the game ;)
If you need an interactive map for the game don't forget:

Cool, but this should be promoted in the main page. It's too important an event to die here in the forum. With photos and so on.

In the first image, is the yellow wool with a slab on it supposed to be a payphone?

It's a ticket machine for the tram line

Will it be self-explaining?

I was a guest speaker at CERN on Friday to introduce Craft the Web at the
Coding Science conference. The conference was about innovative technology in education.
There were also two other Minetest-related speakers at the event:
- Frédéric Véron from Framinetest, a French-speaking educational Minetest project
- Dr James Wootton from IBM Zurich, regarding QiskitBlocks - a Minetest game about quantum computing

1: Cool!
2. Is that you on the left?
3. So Cern is sponsoring Minetest?

CERN have now published a news article about this:

2. Yes
3. No. They paid for us to go to Geneva to develop craft the web using funds from the US Mission in Geneva to the UN, but they haven't otherwise sponsored Minetest. It's impossible for them to sponsor Minetest as it isn't a legal non-profit
