Hi, I'm exploring caves and there are underground lakes there. But no fish there. Tell me about the deep-sea fish with luminous appendages? Or give me the model please.

A Minetest server with CSM and OS integration that provides location data and places the player in a Minetest world that mirrors earth. The player will spawn at the location where they are in the real world. Would need either minetest-32 or a tricky server proxy & handoff system due to the size not fitting in the Minetest world size of 60 km x 60 km.

It's not meant for doxxing, and you would need to trust the server. If you connected with a VPN I suppose you could visit other countries.. but the idea would be to maybe meet anyone else playing Minetest in your area. You could go to a local public place like a library, a town square, etc. rather than connecting from home.

Just an idle thought anyway.

rainbow mod, maybe to be followed by a storm, or added to a weather/storm mod. perhaps it can sprinkle gold blocks or ingots, but like dropped items, so it won't last forever, or else a world might eventually get covered in gold, but spinning dropped items like when a mob is killed, which will last a few day/night cycles might be neat for hunting for them. i mention gold for obvious reasons of rainbows being associated with a pot of gold at the end of one, but could be anything.

A good road sign mod. There are couple barebones ones, but none of them offer European signs or a good selection of them. Just look at mods like Traffic Control, Road Stuff (only 1.7.10 version) or Blu's Signs Pack for MineCraft. They offer large selection, with only few signs missing, and the first one even supports custom sign packs.

I would like mod to have:

- most European (Vienna Convention signs, including ones unique for some countries, such as UK or Polish ones) and American signs
- couple signs being editable (such as speed limits, speed limits zone, minimum/recommended speed) and having most possible variations
- an editor for direction signs
- compatibility with VoxeLibre/Mineclonia/VoxelForge

Wikipedia and government websites will be good sources here.

For VoxelLibre, add EVERYTHING from Vanilla Minecraft and put it into VL, and make the sounds, textures, and models JUST like Minecraft to give the player nostalgia of Minecraft.

the problem is that you dont own the assets and opens you up to being sued by mojang

also VL dosent exist because "you dont have to pay for it"

If all you care about is not paying for it, there are ways to get Minecraft without paying. If you're about to point out that that's illegal piracy, yes I know that it is. So is stealing all the assets from Mojang and putting them in a Minetest engine game.

It's almost as if there's some kind of other motivation behind making Mineclone-family games than just free Minecraft...

Minecraft Java Edition's files are all downloadable from Mojang's servers if you know the URL. They let anyone download the server files too. You just can't actually launch the game client with Mojang's launcher without actually having a paid account. There are free pirate launchers that can bypass that requirement, but I'm not in a position to tell you any names because that would be facilitating piracy and you'd probably get a virus instead anyway.

The point of VoxelLibre is to bring Minecraft TO Minetest....

So yeah, anyone interested in making this? This game deserves a good traffic sign mod... oh, and it is also supposed to be compatible with MTG ofc.

Shouldn't be too hard as it's basically couple nodes, tinkering with sign selection UI and signs API, but the problem is graphics... well, I'm not into licenses too much, so, I think we need a help.

We do have a pretty good mod for street signs, but it only includes U.S. signage: viewtopic.php?t=20866. If you want a mod with European signage, you might want to use that mod as a base to work from.

A knockback mod. It's pleasant to have the mob to go back when you hit it. And it's a good way to stay far when they are many.

@wheat8 - Mobs Redo has knockback included for mobs, and PlayerPlus mod has knockback available for players as well :)

I would like to have a more frenetic combat system, so I plan to remove 'Full_punch_interval' for swords. I've seen in your API that knockback is only active when Full_punch, so I assume I need to do some modifications.
And thank you TenPlus1 for your work and informations :)

I haven't found any mods for the deep ocean or underground lakes. I need more scary fish and glowing cuttlefish!

I have been trying to get people to help me write a clone of the Blockbusterclone mod starting with 1.5:
* Actors and player recording – the most important feature, as you won't be able to create a machinimas without it. With Blockbusterclone mod you can record yourself doing things and then playback it using an actor.
* Director blocks – one actor is good, a crowd of them is even better. Blockbusterclone mod provides you with a mechanism called director block which manages playback of registered actors. It allows you to record actors. It also has outlets attaching some custom commands on start or the end of the scene playback.
* Model block – besides actors, Blockbusterclone also adds a model block, allowing you placing down custom models or mobs as static props, which allows creating magnificient and immersive scenes. Besides placing them down, you can also hold those models or mobs in your hand.
* Custom models – recording only player-like entities limits the originality of your machinimas. Blockbusterclone mod let's you create custom models using in-game model editor. Unleash your creativity with custom models!
* OBJ models – beside custom models which can be created with in-game custom model editor, Blockbusterclone also supports OBJ models on top of custom JSON models!
* Mobs support – Blockbusterclone provides a morphing system which lets player morph themselves into any Animalia Mob provides to be used by Blockbuster actors.
* Minema compatability – thanks to frame-based player recording and cameras, you can convert your in-game machinimas to videos with a press of a button.
* Green screen features – Blockbusterclone adds glowing green blocks without any shading and an option to turn the sky fully green which makes it easier creating green screens for post processing of your machinimas.

Entirely doable, but quite a bit of work. I'd suggest using a client-side mod for player recording, so lag can't interfere with actions.

well yes but ideally it would be 2 mods one for servers and one for clients.

Bottled weather

Essentially a breweable potion that the player would either need to drink or throw or plop open, and it would immediately change the weather. Depending of the implementation, it could change the weather for the current biome, chunk or chunks, or ideally in a zone surrounding the location where it was triggered. Additionally, this could be applied to armors/weapons so the effect is applied when the weapon is wielded.
I guess this would call for a strong API to manage all that, including an efficient weather system that isn't too slow !

WakeyWakey
I'd like a gameplay option that tells me when the sun is rising without having to look at a wall-mounted sun-clock, or possibly without the need to craft anything for that matter. My original idea was a simple chime that would trigger whenever the sun rises, nothing needed. But it could also be other creative things like, if a chicken is nearby and the sun is rising, trigger a "Cock-a-doodle-doo! " sound coming out of that chicken - that would require you to actually bring a chicken with you in your underground adventures, which would be quite funny, but useful !
