Randomized nodes
A mod able to create randomized nodes, complete with texture, name, world placement, node groups for recipes etc...

Shapeshifter
A mod that lets players change their appearance and model to that of a mob. Call it whatever you look: morph, transform, change into or possess a mob... The player physics would change too, as they would have the size, speed, animations and movements of that mob available to them. I'd like to find a way to make that viable as a gameplay option to a cost... maybe you have to wear a certain armor, or maybe it is a timed effect potion.
I've found these two mods that seem to do that but they are both quite old and i don't know if they still work:

Environmental hazard events
Events that would force the player to retreat somewhere safe while the event unfolds, possibly for several days. It would force them into zones they may not be accustomed to going to. These would not only be temporary setbacks that are not destructive, they should not destroy your construction, only hinter your progression into or entirely prevent you from accessing a certain area for a period of time.
For example:

Is there a standalone mod that can enable "floating broken nodes" like what you get in VoxeLibre (aka Mineclone2)?
I.e., breaking a node doesn't just insert it directly into your character's inventory, but instead drops a floating node on the ground that must be collected with the nice satisfying "pop?"
Also, to make floating items (e.g., apples, mushrooms) be picked up when walking over them?

@xynix - If you mean minecraft style item drops and pickup then this is the mod you're after :)

It's still a physical item but there is mailbox mod. I think it's fun to build post offices where players all have their own box to be honest. I think homedecor has a similarly-functioning node but.. it's homedecor..

Now that 5.11 adds font support, it should be easier to make something more comparable to ComputerCraft than was previously possible.

I just had a dream where I was playing with a mate showing him a random server I'd stumbled across and I was shocked to encounter players playing badminton in game.
Now at least on my Australian internet that would probably cause latency issues, but I was surprised when a search for 'sports' and a few specific sports on contentDB and Google didn't come up with anything, I might just be searching wrong.
When I was last working on my game/mods I hadn't really gotten my head around entities yet but I can't imagine a large beach ball would be too difficult, and I could definitely already make a lot of the aesthetic nodes.
Why don't we have a sports mod? Even if it's just cosmetic in nature.
I may do this myself so please message me if you or anyone else decides to make one, as I don't want to remake what others have already decided to work on.

1. escalator / moving stars mod
2. paternoster lift (I think that is for code very similar of escalator)
3. technical entities making machine - for example "car producer" for Automobiles pack, or for AdvTrains vehicles

ok, I'm barely learning how to create mods that involve blocks, what I am wanting is something similar to the stair pick but can create mine shafts straight down basically turning any type of rock, maybe even dirt into a for of mine shaft ladder, so my users don't have to create ladder for going straight down. I once saw a tool that let you create climbing hand and foot marks on rock, it added a thin graphic block in front that was like ladder, but the tool made it on the spot, not using up ladders, but I can't seem to find it right now. I'm sure my idea would involve creation of the actual block types dirt or rock mine_shaft_ladder or some kind of climbing ridges in a passible block, there is a neat mineshaft mod I just heard about, but you still have to create the blocks and then place them, I'm hoping to just dig them. any stone_with_ore would harvest the ore as it altered the block to the shaft_ladder. I have no idea how to mod tools, I'm barely figuring out the blocks at this point :)
Edit: I found the handholds again, and also handholds redo these are a good start because I can dig down and make it easy to climb out without having to make stuff, being able to dig a stone type block and replace it with handholds at the same time would be more like what I am thinking.

I edited my post when I rediscovered the handholds and the handholds-redo mods, they use a pick and make climbing holes on the side.
I'm looking more for something that will let you dig straight down and then be able to climb out without needing ladders, the hand holds could work for this and just be another step, dig first then create the climbing holes, but it would be nice to maybe have it happen at the same time, so people don't fall in a hole behind someone and die :)

Now that the ladders work, The face of the ladder looks like plane stone, but it is climbable.
