Linux: check for updates in your package manager (WIP)
Note: The Android builds are yet not available as they should be signed first. If you're feeling lucky, pull the APK from the buildbot (requires a GitHub account) and sign it manually for testing.

For those who overwrite their Windows installation with the zip distribution to update it, you might experience a problem with some "Irrlicht" file/folder. It seems to be what the "extraction error" refers to, as in 5.9.0 there was an empty file named "Irrlicht" while in 5.9.1 it is a folder with content.
To solve this, delete the "client" folder before extracting.

So it’s not fair, why isn’t there one for Linux, but why isn’t there a new ad on the maintest website?
Linux users get Minetest in several ways, usually through their distribution's package manager (apt, yum, dnf, zypper, ...) or through a containerised format like Flatpak or snap, or an AppImage, or build from source... And there is a first-party source too, the Ubuntu PPA (link is down at time of posting for whatever reason).
but why isn’t there a new ad on the maintest website?
There might be one in a few days. I'm sure the people who can do the update are aware. Personally I got notified through GitHub Releases by being a watcher on the Minetest repository.

The update hasn't been published in the usual places yet, but it will be on F-Droid and Google Play. App "stores" (I don't just mean Apple's) like those can take time to approve things, so it's not necessarily Minetest's fault for not publishing yet, though 4 days seems unusual for a patch update.
