Video player is cool. Was Theora chosen because it's freer than VP8/9?

Knowing how Youtube works, it probably did it against his will. It has done the same to me a few times - I've seen people purposefully add swear words to their videos just so it won't happen. It's all automatic so you can't manually remove it, sucks.

Am I sorry that it's not edited? A little. Would it kill me to cut out some of it, like 60%? No.

I was going for crows, lots of them, it would be epic if it worked, but gemini had other ideas. It was the weekend, gemini is gemini, and I only had this spritediv for coins, so I thought 'I'll try with this and if it works it's an easy switch', in the end I backed it all up to the way it was before, so this is the 'evidence' for the 'experiment'. Still pretty neat effect, thanks to the set up by the sum_air_currents mod.

One thing that works quite well is two new styles of teleport: 'relative position' and 'absolute distance', you can pick up in the 'tools' mod on my github. Just type 'telp <a> <b> <c>' and 'dow <d>' respectively.

-_- Don't hate me cos I tapped into the well that is gemini's advanced search system, which appears practical until it spoils you with all this 'go-to-it-iveness', nothing like it could replace a real human developer, but I do get the feeling of being 'bumped down' a level by it. This is the future, ladies and gentlemen. You notice when you stop being polite to it. But be humane, make the most of it, think of what it means to have your few questions answered for once.

Great second video. You guys are really onto something. Luanti needs more content of this sort.

Yeah, removing the health bars could be a good idea, or you could leave them intentionally to build some narrative tension, e.g. show the viewer that somebody got hurt or how close to 0 they got.

I am guessing that the writers are not native English speakers, which is fine obviously, but some of the dialogue could use a bit of proof-reading as parts of it don't sound very natural.

Overall though, good job! Keep it up.

In a project involving kids or inexperienced writers, I would say even English natives can write stilted dialogue. Sometimes even millenials with big-time jobs..

All the credit goes out to him; I only focused on providing subtitles (transcripts available in English, Russian, German, Italian, French and Spanish).

The talk was first transcribed using Whisper C++ on the small-en model (in case you'll be doing this too, check out its --prompt PROMPT CLI option, you can provide some natural language context on the audio to make the output more accurate); then I manually re-timed and re-cut it with corrections using Aegisub. Also found out that FFmpeg can shift timestamps on subtitle files!

Translation into Russian was done using GPT-OSS with a custom prompt (filled with context about the talk) by feeding it chunks of the SRT, which turned out to be quite a bad approach in terms of accuracy; I manually corrected them afterwards and audited the process. Subtitles in all the other languages were produced by first feeding the English SRT into prompted Kimi 2.5 Agent, and then semi-manually proofreading and correcting them via prompted GPT-OSS, two proofread/correct passes for each. Note that my goal wasn't as much to maximize correctness of the produced subtitles as it was to provide better accessibility than what Google Translate would do for those who don't speak English and/or are deaf or hard-of-hearing. Can't call this approach ideal, but it was a new experience for me.
